Chase Daniel nearly made Tim Tebow walk off the set of 'SEC Nation' with 'derogatory' comment about Florida

All is fair in love and war, they say, but perhaps they should have added a third subject to that phrase: college football trash talk.

I've heard some downright despicable things being bandied back and forth between fans of rival teams in my years on social media .

Nothing is off limits, in theory, but sometimes fans can get carried away and cross a line that causes some hurt feelings.

HIGH STAKES, SOCIAL MEDIA BARBS REMIND COLLEGE FOOTBALL FANS THAT AUBURN AND FLORIDA SHARE HISTORY OF HATRED Apparently, that isn't just reserved for anonymous profiles on social media either, because two prominent former college quarterbacks had a moment that would remind you of the average interaction on X.

Chase Daniel and Tim Tebow were chopping it up on the set of ESPN's "SEC Nation" show live from Auburn's campus, and the subject came up about the Tigers' opponent, the Florida Gators.

"I do think Florida could be the next Vandy," Daniel said, as his fellow co-hosts smirked.

"Let me just explain something." Tebow was having none of it, as he nearly got up and walked off the set.

"That is the most derogatory thing I have ever heard in my life." COUNTRY STAR MORGAN WALLEN WALKS OUT WITH FLORIDA LEGEND TIM TEBOW, REFUSES TO GATOR CHOMP To Daniel's credit, he goes on to explain that he thinks the Gators can be the surprise team of 2026, much like the Commodores were the surprise team of last season.

For any college football fan that's over the age of 20, you probably know Vanderbilt as the doormats of the SEC.

Growing up in the 90s and 2000s, Vandy was a walkover for the Gators - and pretty much anyone else with a pulse - so comparing them, even favorably, to the 'Dores rightfully sent Tebow, as well as anyone else alive during the Spurrier and Meyer years, into a tizzy.
