Mets become latest on social media to troll Jayden Daniels amid No 5 jersey feud with LSU
The regular season hasn’t started yet, but Jayden Daniels is already being blitzed.
The New York Mets joined the masses on the internet who have made fun of the Washington Commanders star quarterback for sending a cease-and-desist letter earlier this month to his alma mater, LSU, over the use of his name, image and likeness.
After the Mets’ 4-1 win over the Washington Nationals , who, like the Commanders, are in the DMV area, the Mets took a shot at Daniels on X.

Daniels, who won the Heisman Trophy with LSU in 2023, and his camp reportedly felt that head coach Lane Kiffin allowing DJ Pickett to wear his No.
5 jersey was "disrespectful." The former LSU star quarterback posted a statement on social media Thursday afternoon about the situation.
"I have been locked in on training camp and that's been my number one focus.
I have a lot of gratitude for my time at LSU and I'm proud of what my teammates and I accomplished there," Daniels posted.

The former LSU star can only hope that by the time the regular season begins, the only blitz he is facing is on the field and not online.
