Venice Adds ‘Naza,’ Documentary From ‘No Other Land’ Directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, to Competition

The Venice Film Festival has made a last-minute addition to its competition lineup: “ Naza ,” a new documentary from “ No Other Land ” directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor.

The doc, which was shot at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, Israel, shows “in detail the systems behind Israel’s calculated mass killing of Palestinian civilians in Gaza,” according to its official synopsis.

“Naza” is produced by The Guardian and James Wilson of JW Films, and is executive produced by Jonathan Glazer. Wilson and Glazer also worked on 2023’s “The Zone of Interest” together, which won the Oscar for best international feature.

Abraham and Szor are two of the four co-directors of 2025’s “No Other Land,” which won the Oscar for best documentary feature. That film, which premiered at Berlin Film Festival, showed the destruction of Masafer Yatta, a Palestinian community in the West Bank. Popular on Variety

“Naza” will screen at Venice Film Festival on Sept. 10 at 5:15 p.m. in the Sala Grande at the Palazzo del Cinema, in the presence of the directors, producers and Guardian journalists.
