While doing an on-camera interview at Lollapalooza, Suki Waterhouse got a surprise cameo from one of the fastest-rising names in indie-pop.

The multihyphenate artist, who recently released her album Loveland , sat down with Rolling Stone at Lollapalooza to reflect on her musical journey, personal inspirations and her new project.

During a round of “ Song Shuffle” — which featured some of her favorite songs, including Sophie B.

Hawkins’ “Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover” and Donna Lewis’ Billboard Hot 100 No.

2 hit “I Love You Always Forever” — sombr, who was also on the Lollapalooza 2026 lineup, made a quick cameo in the background, giving viewers a taste of the spontaneity that can happen behind the scenes at festivals.

During the interview, Waterhouse also opened up about her return to the Lolla stage after her captivating 2023 set, saying she hopes fans “feel like making moves.

I hope they feel like they’ve had a memory they can store somewhere inside, some kind of collective memory.” The singer also gave fans three recommendations from her new album, with “When I Get Drunk (I Want You Boy)” as her top pick for a late night romantic evening.

She recommended “Weirdo” for when you miss someone special and “Back in Love” for when “you’re feeling good and summery.” In July, during an interview on the Billboard Pop Shop Podcast , Waterhouse discussed how she completed her previous album, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin , shortly before giving birth to her daughter in 2024.

“And then this one, I remember I started a couple of weeks after she was born,” she said.
