Tom Holland Is Raking in a Huge Payday for His ‘Spider-Man’ Success

It would already be a great time to be Tom Holland even without Spider-Man. He starred in The Odyssey , one of the biggest critical and commercial hits of the year , and he recently married his longtime partner, Zendaya. But the web-slinger is very much in the picture— Spider-Man: Brand New Day has made over $2 billion worldwide , making it the top release of 2026 by a lot —and the guy behind the title character stands to profit immensely.

According to the Wrap , “three individuals with knowledge of Holland’s deal” told the outlet that, on top of Holland’s “base salary of at least $20 million up front,” he has “the potential to earn upwards of $100 million when backend bonuses are factored in.” What’s more, his “backend bonus is not capped, so there’s no ceiling to how much he may ultimately make.” (Neither Sony nor Holland’s reps would comment to the Wrap on this report.)

Inevitably, audiences for Spider-Man: Brand New Day will begin to taper off, but the film is still going strong in its third week, and there aren’t any other obvious blockbusters hitting theaters anytime soon. Even if Brand New Day falls out of the top spot, it will still be filling seats and adding to its ever-growing pile of receipts for a good while yet.

The Wrap further emphasizes the impressive trajectory of Holland’s paydays by pointing out he made an estimated $250,000 for his Spider-Man debut in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War . While he’s earned more with each successive Spider-Man franchise entry, his enduring appeal to audiences as the character has helped elevate him into the jaw-droppingly lucrative realm of “backend bonuses.”

Here’s hoping he takes some of that cash and enjoys a nice vacation, because you know Sony and Marvel will be dying to get started on a fifth Spidey adventure before too long.
