Fans are choosing Ella Langley over and over again.

The country singer’s hit song “Choosin’ Texas” has set an illustrious record: the most weeks at No.

1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for a non-holiday title by a woman.

On the chart dated Aug.

15, 2026, “Choosin’ Texas,” which first topped the Hot 100 in February, added a 17th week at No.

1 , one-upping Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” for the honor.

Previously, Langley’s smash surpassed Carey’s “We Belong Together” and Whitney Houston ’s “I Will Always Love You” (14 weeks each) for the most weeks at No.

1 among non-holiday titles by women with no male-billed acts.

Langley cowrote the two-stepping, midtempo song about a heartbreak with Miranda Lambert , Luke Dick and Joybeth Taylor.

As Langley told Billboard earlier this year, “I was on a writers retreat with Miranda, our first time writing together.

At a young age, she had a pet kangaroo.

She told me how she got pulled over once with the kangaroo in the passenger seat.

The kangaroo got her out of a ticket and she said, ‘Of course, I had Texas plates, too.’ I went, ‘Well, she’s from Texas, I can tell …’ Forty-five minutes later, we had the song written.” Below is a list of records that “Choosin’ Texas” and Langley have already matched or set.
