First look: Lego reveals a $230 Batman Returns Batmobile that transforms into the Batmissile

The iconic Batmobile from 1992's Batman Returns is officially getting the Lego treatment.

The company has officially announced that the Lego DC Batman: Batman Returns Batmobile is set to drop this September.

Preorders are not live just yet, but it won't be long until you can get your hands on this awesome-looking brick-built vehicle.

This 2,269-piece set will be available to buy for $229.99 from Sept.

1 at the Lego Store if you're part of the Lego Insiders program or from Sept.

4 if you're not (it's free to sign up ).

That's just a couple of weeks away from the time of this writing, so you won't have long to wait.

The 2,269 pieces come together to form the vehicle from the film, complete with a detailed cockpit and cool details hidden throughout, such as The Penguin's tracking device.

The fun of this build doesn't stop there, though.

According to the press release , "For the first time in a Lego Batmobile model, builders can press a button to release the vehicle's side panels, revealing the sleek Batmissile escape vehicle hidden within." Of course, no Batmobile is complete without Batman.

This build comes with Michael Keaton's Caped Crusader as a minifigure, "with a newly molded cape," per the press release .
