Search continues for missing paddleboarder last seen off Florida coast

A paddleboard matching the one used by the man, Matt Pawlowski, has been found.

A search is underway for a 48-year-old man who went missing while paddleboarding off the coast of Florida, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Matt Pawlowski was last seen around 9 a.m. Monday, approximately four miles off Jupiter Beach, paddling east on a 14-foot lime-green and yellow paddleboard, according to the Coast Guard.

A paddleboard matching the description of the one used by Pawlowski has been recovered amid the search, the Coast Guard said Wednesday.

A good Samaritan located the board approximately 10 miles offshore Jupiter Island and turned it in to local police, it said.

Personnel with the Coast Guard and multiple local law enforcement agencies "continue to search up Florida's coast," the U.S. Coast Guard Southeast said Wednesday, as the search for Pawlowski entered its third day.

Pawlowski was reportedly wearing a white hat, orange shirt and gray shorts when he went missing, the Coast Guard said.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Coast Guard Sector Miami Command Center at 305-535-4372.
