Skrillex Issues Apology After Head Trip Set: ‘Will Take The L and Make a Lesson Of It’
Skrillex has issued a public apology after apparent issues during his Oct.
11 set at Head Trip.
On Tuesday (Oct.
13) the producer posted a statement to social media saying “my deepest apologies for my set and sound at Head Trip.
I was having a nightmare myself up there and hate how bad that was for everyone in the crowd.
No excuses, will take the L and make a lesson of it.” Related Head Trip 2026 Was (Accidentally) the Craziest One-Night Lineup in EDM History: Seven Takeaways From the Historic Festival Amyl and the Sniffers to Headline Golden Hour at Bondi Beach in 2027 A$AP Rocky Announces First Australian and New Zealand Tour in Eight Years Some online commenters who saw the performance in real time during the Head Trip livestream noted what seemed to be sound issues during the performance’s first 30 minutes, with some saying the sound seemed clipped and distorted.
Some called out what seemed to be frustrated looks on the producer’s face while he performed.
Other commenters reported that some of the festival’s sound towers did not seem to be working during portions of the show.
Other online commenters, however, say they noticed no issues and felt that the performance was largely great.
Regardless of the debates online, it seems the issue was significant enough for Skrillex to publicly acknowledge it.
Skrillex performed at Head Trip as part of a stacked day two lineup that included DJ Harvey, Peggy Gou, Dom Dolla b2b Kettama, Calvin Harris and Swedish House Mafia.
A one-time-only festival produced by Goldenvoice, Head Trip happened on the Coachella grounds in Indio, Calif. and followed 2016’s classic rock fest Desert Trip and 2023’s metal-focused Power Trip.
The Head Trip lineup also featured Seth Troxler b2b Ben Sterling, Four Tet b2b Peggy Gou and Chris Lake and Fisher performing as Under Construction, a show that was cut short by approximately 10 minutes when the first night of the festival ended early due to potential lightning.
