Anuel AA Reveals He’s Dropping an All-Corridos Album Along With ‘RHLM 2’: Everything We Know

Billboard ·

Anuel AA took over Billboard Latin Music Week on Tuesday (Oct.

20) for an exclusive Superstar Q&A and Premiere Party — and revealed that he will be dropping two albums by end of year.

“I created this album from my heart and soul—it’s the kind of music I’ve made since the very beginning of my career,” Anuel said of RHLM 2 , which is the sequel to his debut studio album Real Hasta La Muerte released in 2018.

“It’s about my roots, blending trap with reggaeton; it’s a return to my origins and a continuation of RHLM .” The set will also mark his first album in four years.

“I’ve been living life more fully, focusing on my own life,” he explains.

“I’ve been in this business for 10 or 11 years now, and I wanted to spend more time with my children and my family—living life while continuing to work.” During the 45-minute conversation, moderated by Leila Cobo, Billboard’s co-chief content officer, the Puerto Rican trap star also teased that the highly-awaited RHLM2 will drop in November, and that he will be releasing an all-corridos set on the side.

“I love corridos music—I fell in love with it 100%.

I hardly ever listen to reggaeton or trap music, I’m all about corridos ,” he shares.

“It’s a different way of experiencing street music.

Most of them [Mexican artists] don’t use auto-tune; they sing a cappella , and they’re damn good! I really like the process.

I’m even going to release an album consisting entirely of corridos —it’s a gift for Mexico.” Additionally, he teased four new songs from his forthcoming RHLM album, and one from the corridos set.

Read below that you can expect: “Ya Perdió la Fe” : It’s a sad reggaeton song about heartbreak.

I’ve always sung about things I’ve personally experienced.

It’s a track people can relate to when they break up with a partner—sometimes, if someone just isn’t meant for you, they simply aren’t meant for you.” “Se tocó el totico con mi glock”: “This trap song is one for the streets, for the bebesitas —it’s that kind of song.
