Streaming Ratings: ‘Little House on the Prairie’ Takes Over Top Spot
With Love Island USA’ s season over, a new series took over the top of the streaming charts in mid-July.
Netflix’s Little House on the Prairie remake claimed the top overall spot in Nielsen’s streaming ratings for the week of July 13-19. The series drew 1.18 billion minutes of viewing for the week, up about 27 percent from its premiere .
Little House was the only original series to draw more than a billion minutes of viewing for the week, though another came extremely close to that mark: The Hawk , Netflix’s golf comedy starring Will Ferrell, premiered with 999 million minutes of watch time. Prime Video’s action comedy Ride or Die , starring Hannah Waddingham and Octavia Spencer, also had a solid debut week with 869 million minutes. Two acquired shows also reached the billion-minute threshold. The Big Bang Theory (1.08 billion minutes) and SpongeBob SquarePants (1.01 billion) both hit their highest weekly totals in the six-year history of the streaming rankings. House of the Dragon (995 million) drew its largest weekly tally of season three so far, up from 969 million minutes a week earlier.
