Patti LaBelle to Receive Icon Award at 2026 BMAC Gala, Where Guests Will Enjoy Recipes From Her Kitchen

Most people know two things about Patti LaBelle : She’s a world-class singer and a very talented cook.

And guests at the sixth annual BMAC Gala, set for Sept.

24 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., will be able to appreciate both of LaBelle’s talents.

The event is organized by the Black Music Action Coalition (BMAC) and presented by Live Nation.

LaBelle is slated to receive the BMAC Icon Award at the event, where guests will dine on recipes from LaBelle’s own kitchen, including hot and sassy gazpacho, Caesar salad, short ribs in brown gravy, garlic mashed potatoes, blackened savory salmon, sumptuous string beans and vegan jambalaya.

Guests will finish the evening with Labelle’s sweet potato pies.

1 NAACP Image Awards Adds 10 New African Categories for 2027 BMAC also announced that the inaugural Sylvia Rhone Visionary Award will be presented to Nicole Wyskoarko , president/head of urban A&R at Interscope Geffen A&M.

The award recognizes exceptional leaders for their innovation, mentorship, influence and commitment to creating opportunities for artists and their indelible contributions to the music industry.

“Success isn’t measured solely by sales, but by the lives we touch, the doors we open, and the legacies we build,” Rhone said in a statement in which she praised the inaugural recipient of the award named in her honor.

“Nicole Wyskoarko embodies that truth every day — a legal mastermind with an artist’s heart, who champions creators, protects creativity, and sees potential in people and ideas that might otherwise go unrecognized.

“I’ve had the joy of watching Nicole rise through our business with grace, grit, and an unshakable sense of purpose.

At every step of the climb, she has lifted others alongside her.

As Nicole continues to shape the sound, the business, and the future of Black music, I can’t imagine a more deserving first recipient of the BMAC Sylvia Rhone Visionary Award — or anyone better suited to define what this honor will come to represent.
