The Pope finally receives his own genuine White Sox-branded Pope hat from wild team giveaway

Every year, there are plenty of great promotional giveaways across all of sports.

Some are useful — I still use a towel I got at a preseason hockey game to wash my car and whack wasp nests off my house — while others just collect dust.

But none have captured the imagination quite like the Chicago White Sox's Pope hats .

Now, Pope Leo has got one to add to his collection of Pope hats... which I imagine is quite extensive.

The team gave away thousands of Papal lids on Aug.

The MLB-flavored mitre looks pretty sharp, and while it might be a little too black to go along with the Pope's usual ensemble, at least the team's color scheme still works for him.

Good thing he's not a Marlins fan or something like that.

Now, I don't believe for one second that Pope Leo will throw that puppy on for Sunday Mass, but man, I wish he would.

Not every day, but maybe before big games.
