Rachel posted support for reparations on Instagram Monday in the latest in a series of political moves by the online educator.

Ms.

Rachel, whose real name is Rachel Accurso, posted a quote on her account from Ta-Nehisi Coates' 2014 essay "The Case for Reparations" about the need to "reckon" with America's history of slavery.

"Two hundred fifty years of slavery.

Ninety years of Jim Crow.

Sixty years of separate but equal.

Thirty-five years of racist housing policy.

Until we reckon with our compounding moral debts, America will never be whole," the quote read.

"The Case for Reparations" was one of Coates' most famous essays , in which he argued that "American prosperity was ill-gotten" and that the nation needs to reconcile with its past beyond handing out money.

"What I’m talking about is more than recompense for past injustices — more than a handout, a payoff, hush money, or a reluctant bribe," Coates wrote.

"What I’m talking about is a national reckoning that would lead to spiritual renewal.

Reparations would mean the end of scarfing hot dogs on the Fourth of July while denying the facts of our heritage.
