This year has seen plenty of buzzy new vinyl releases, from BTS’ comeback album , Arirang , to Ariana Grande’s latest LP , Petal . And while both acts have attracted a fandom that spans ages and demographics, one of the most anticipated vinyl releases for fall targets a decidedly younger audience.
Children’s entertainer Ms. Rachel is releasing her debut album, and it’s already topped Amazon’s bestsellers chart , weeks before its Sept. 25 release date. Titled I’m So Happy , the album features 23 songs from the show, performed by both Ms. Rachel (real name Rachel Accurso) and her husband Aron (a.k.a. “Mr. Aron”). Retailers are seemingly anticipating high demand for a vinyl variant of the album too, as Amazon, Urban Outfitters, Walmart, and Target have all released exclusive editions of the Ms. Rachel LP online.
The Amazon exclusive features all 23 tracks on a single yellow-colored disc, along with pull-out book and poster.
While Ms. Rachel is best known as a content creator who came to fame via her eponymous YouTube series and her viral TikTok channel , this is the first time she has released an official musical project. Still, it’s not completely unfounded: the children’s entertainer’s Songs for Littles series features the 43-year-old dressed in her signature pink shirt, pink headband, and blue overalls performing nursery rhymes and original songs for toddlers and preschoolers.
I’m So Happy will compile 23 of those songs into one album, with tracks ranging from classic children’s tunes like “The Wheels on the Bus” and “Old MacDonald,” to the Songs for Littles hit, “Icky Sticky Bubblegum.” The album is preceded by the lead single, “I Love a Rainbow,” which Billboard describes as a “bossa nova number celebrating colors.”
The album is also available as an Urban Outfitters exclusive white vinyl, which is limited to a run of just 500 copies.
Of course, you can also stream or download I’m So Happy online. The album will be available to stream on all your usual streaming services.
And lest you think this is just a joke release or long-running gag, the Ms. Rachel album is getting a big push too: I’m So Happy is being released via Magic Star, the children’s and family entertainment division at Sony Music.
Walmart also has the Ms. Rachel album in an exclusive “translucent orange” orange colorway. The retailer has the album labeled as a “bestseller” online, weeks before its street date.
Of course, vinyl has seen a surge of interest in recent years, but if you don’t have a place to play your new Ms. Rachel disc, Amazon has this appropriately themed pink record player available now for around $50.
This is a three-speed turntable that plays vinyl discs, but it also has a Bluetooth setting that lets you play music through its speakers when you pair it with your phone or computer.
The new Ms. Rachel album is the latest expansion of her popular children’s franchise, which also includes a Netflix show, branded toys, dolls, apparel, and merch.
More than 5,000 shoppers have picked up this Ms.
