Disneyland fans beg for return of beloved '60s attraction shuttered decades ago

Disneyland's newly announced Tomorrowland overhaul has reignited calls from fans to bring back the PeopleMover , a classic attraction shuttered more than three decades ago.

Thomas Mazloum, chairman of Disney Experiences, unveiled the Tomorrowland plans during the D23 fan convention on Aug.

Mazloum offered few specifics about what the reimagining would entail, instead framing the project around Disneyland's upcoming 75th anniversary in 2030 and its future.

"And that starts with Tomorrowland." The announcement quickly renewed speculation among fans about whether the reimagining could include the return of the PeopleMover.

The PeopleMover was an elevated attraction that carried guests above Tomorrowland.

It opened in 1967 and closed in 1995.

Fans posting comments on a Reddit forum dedicated to Disneyland were quick to call for the PeopleMover's return.

"Just add the PeopleMover and people will be happy," one Redditor wrote.

"PeopleMover, please!" another person pleaded.
