Madonna Tops U.K. Dance Charts a Record Fifth Time in 15 Weeks

Madonna is back on top of the U.K.’s Commercial Pop club chart — and this time she’s brought Kylie Minogue with her.

Eight weeks after “Love Sensation” first topped the chart with Madonna in a solo capacity, the track soared back to the peak in its new After Hours mix, entering straight in at No. 1 with Minogue joining her on vocals.

The remix, helmed by longtime Madonna and Kylie collaborator Stuart Price, got its live debut at WorldPride Amsterdam on Aug. 1, when Minogue made a surprise appearance at Madonna’s Club Confessions party.

With Price assisting on the decks, the pair unveiled the track together from the DJ booth — “Are we in gay heaven?” Madonna asked the crowd — before the studio version rolled out in the days that followed, complete with lyric videos featuring behind-the-scenes footage from the Amsterdam event.

The reworking unites two of pop’s most enduring dancefloor queens on a single record — a pairing fans of both artists have long dreamed about — and the U.K.’s club DJs have responded by sending it straight to the top of the charts.

It caps a remarkable run: the mix is Madonna’s fifth No. 1 hit in just 15 weeks on the U.K. dance chart, an unprecedented tally. Since the beginning of May she has also topped it with “I Feel So Free,” the Sabrina Carpenter collaboration “Bring Your Love” and “Danceteria,” in addition to the original solo version of “Love Sensation.”
