‘Oak Street’ Takes Its First Steps as ‘Spider-Man’ Swings to $2 Billion

Warner Bros.’ The End of Oak Street is the weekend’s big movie, but folks are still showing up for Spider-Man: Brand New Day .

Per Variety , the superhero flick’s now hit over $2 billion globally, as everyone figured it eventually would. Now having beaten the box office its predecessor No Way Home, the fourth MCU Spidey movie is the hero’s highest-grossing movie ever, and the biggest of 2026. It’s the eighth movie to get that far; as is, it’s slightly behind Avengers: Infinity War ($2.03B) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($2.07B). And by hitting that milestone in three weeks, Brand New Day’s the second-fastest film to get there behind Avengers: Endgame’s 11-day run.

As for Oak Street, it managed to carve out space for itself between Spider-Man and The Odyssey (whose own gross is at $1.29 billion worldwide). Directed by David Robert Mitchell and starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, the dinosaur flick has made $47 million worldwide. Most of that came from international territories, where it exceeded projections with its $46 million opening across a five-day period.

Time will tell how Oak Street does. Critics and audiences have come out of it fairly positive, so maybe word of mouth will give it some legs. Likewise, we’re still playing the waiting game with Spider-Man . How far can it go, and how long will Sony let it play in theaters as the fall movie season draws closer? We’ll find out.
