Dakota Johnson hopes to start a family after career kept her 'gone for 20 years'

Dakota Johnson thought her life would look a lot different than it does now.

During a recent interview with Vogue , the 36-year-old actress spoke about her career and whether she sees herself starting a family, telling the outlet it's something she really wants for herself.

"I really do.

I d but for whatever reason, that’s the plan of the universe," she said.

"So I would love that.

I hope that that happens for me.

I’ve always felt, especially the last few years, that there is a soul that wants to come through.

And I hope that I’m lucky enough to be able to do that." She went on to say that it can sometimes be hard to be around her friends and co-stars who have children or are starting their families when "things turned out differently than I thought," but says she is still "hopeful for that." LADY GAGA AND FIANCÉ MICHAEL POLANSKY WELCOME THEIR FIRST CHILD TOGETHER: REPORT Johnson made a name for herself starring throughout the 2010s, starring in films including " The Social Network " and "21 Jump Street," before landing the role of Anastasia Steele in "Fifty Shades of Grey," which became her breakout role.

She continued building her resume, starring in films such as "Peanut Butter Falcon," "Madame Web" and "The Materialists," but it looks like she plans on slowing down soon.

"I’ve worked back-to-back for so long that now I have this deep calling to shift my perspective a bit and maybe have a bit more of a real life," she said.

"I’ve been gone for, like, 20 years.

The people in my life are so used to me leaving for months at a time." Her main goal is to live her life authentically, noting, "I want to unfold and unfold and really lovingly embrace this life."
