It's that time of year again.

You've read the rankings, listened to the podcasts, watched some preseason football and probably done at least one mock draft that completely fell apart by the fifth round (or you literally stopped paying attention after round three).

You've got a strategy, and you're ready for your actual fantasy football draft.

So, naturally, the guy in your league who hasn't done a second of research and shows up 10 minutes late asking, "Wait, Mike Evans is on the 49ers now?" is probably going to win the championship.

That's fantasy football.

There are hundreds, probably thousands, of fantasy football analysts on the internet, and many of them are very good at what they do.

They'll tell you which running backs are undervalued, which rookie wide receivers are about to break out and which quarterback is being drafted three rounds too early.

I've been playing fantasy football for a long time, in a lot of different leagues with a lot of different people, and there are certain mistakes that people make over and over again.

Avoiding a few of them won't guarantee you a championship.
