Apple to launch touchscreen MacBook and iPad mini in October
Apple just announced its "Welcome home," October 13 event , where it's likely to launch its smart home hub, as well as a new HomePod mini.
But the company is reportedly planning a second even in late October, with plans to launch its first-ever touchscreen MacBook, as well as a new iPad mini.
According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman , the launch is scheduled for "on or around" Tuesday, October 27.
And just like the HomePad (potential name for the smart hub) launch, it will be an actual event, with an online video stream to tune into.
In terms of products, we're getting quite a few new ones.
First, there's the first-ever touchscreen MacBook.
Potentially called the MacBook Ultra, it will come in two sizes – 14 and 16 inches – and have a touchscreen OLED display with a Dynamic Island.
The laptops will be powered by Apple's new M6 chips, and so is the new iMac, which will also be unveiled at the event.
Gurman claims the new products will be geared toward "creative professionals who work in video production, photo editing and music production." Then there's the new iPad mini.
We've heard quite a bit about it already ; rumors say it'll be powered with Apples' A20 Pro chip, a landscape camera, a new speaker system and, possibly, a slightly larger OLED display.
