Sabrina Carpenter Pays Tribute to Dolly Parton: “There Will Never Be Another You”

Parton died Tuesday in Nashville at 80, her family announced. She had been admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Friday morning with kidney and autoimmune issues, per TMZ .

“oh dolly,” Carpenter started an Instagram post with a broken heart emoji. “the only thing i could say after we first met was ‘she really is an angel walking the earth’ and ‘we look like we could be sisters!'”

Parton and Carpenter joined forces for the deluxe version of the latter singer’s Short n’ Sweet album, where the two-time Oscar nominee was featured on “Please Please Please.” They also starred in a music video for the track together, which has amassed over 15 million views on YouTube.

The “Manchild” singer celebrated the release of the music video with an Instagram post at the time. She wrote, “Dolly and me singing in a pickup truck!!!!!! I am so honored to have one of my biggest idols on a song that means so much to me. Short n’ Sweet deluxe is out now!”
