'We need to return immediately,' flight crew warns as pilot health emergency unfolds

A Delta Air Lines flight returned to the airport within minutes of takeoff after the crew reported a medical emergency involving a pilot.

Delta Flight 1208 returned to Minneapolis-St.

Paul International Airport (MSP) shortly after departing for Orlando, Florida, because of a reported medical issue involving a pilot, the airline told Fox News Digital.

"The crew followed established procedures to return to MSP where the aircraft landed safely," Delta said in a statement shared with Fox News Digital.

After landing safely in Minneapolis, Delta arranged for a new flight crew so that the flight could continue to Orlando.

The flight arrived in Orlando later that evening, according to the airline.
