Dashcam captures terrifying moment lightning nearly strikes Utah truck driver

A truck driver on a Utah freeway narrowly missed being struck by lightning amid severe weather earlier this week.

Video of the incident appears to show the moment a lightning strike hit Interstate 84, near the mouth of Weber Canyon, just feet away from a moving truck on Tuesday night, ABC4.com reported.

Motorist Tucker Ralphs captured the video on his dashcam as he was commuting home.

The National Weather Service confirmed to the news outlet that the area experienced a thunderstorm.

Data from the agency showed that a lightning strike hit the side of the freeway at about 9 p.m. local time.
