Mississippi gov trolls Lane Kiffin, LSU after Ole Miss defeats Tigers in coach's return to Oxford
Mississippi Gov.
Tate Reeves got the last word on Saturday night after Ole Miss defeated LSU in Lane Kiffin’s highly anticipated return to Oxford.
The Tigers climbed back into the game in the third quarter, scoring two touchdowns to bring the game to within three points.
LSU tied the game with a field goal early in the fourth quarter.
But Rebels quarterback Trinidad Chambliss scored on a 14-yard run with 6:14 left.
Ole Miss added a two-point conversion to go up eight points.

Reeves added insult to injury with a post on X.
"What does a $54 million buyout for the old coach, a $91 million contract for the new coach, and a $50 million roster get you?" he wrote.
"An a-s whipping in Oxford, Mississippi !" The governor was referring to Kiffin’s departure from Ole Miss to LSU and the way the Tigers’ roster was constructed in the offseason.
It was a part of the trash talking that occurred throughout the week.
Kiffin, himself, was met with middle fingers and boos when he stepped back into Vaught Hemingway Stadium.
