ARMY have long known that BTS’ V was a champ, whether he was pouring his heart out on his solo album, serving his country in the military, or pushing the limits in the gym. But now, Kim Taehyung makes it official with a new partnership with Champion, the iconic American athletic and sportswear brand.
V stars as the face of the brand’s “True Champion” campaign , which celebrates “the people shaping today’s culture through their originality, perspective and enduring impact,” per a release. The singer is seen posing for a series of photographs showing off Champion’s signature sweats while debuting some new streetwear-inspired looks for the brand as well.
Though the campaign images were released Aug. 10, the pieces V was wearing weren’t available to purchase online until now. Some of the pieces are only available in Korea, China or Japan, extending V’s reach as Champion’s global ambassador. However, we’ve rounded up some of the items that are available to purchase here in the U.S.
This cotton blend sweatshirt features collegiate-inspired styling and a unique snap neck closure that can either be kept open like a polo collar or buttoned up for a mockneck look. A “Champion” script applique with raw edge is splashed across the chest, with an embroidered “C” patch on the left sleeve.
V sports this long sleeve rugby-style top in a “tiger lily” colorway. We like the contrast-color polo collar and ribbed trim. There is an embroidered Champion script patch at the chest and a workwear label on the corner, just above the hem. Three other colors are available in sizes small to 2XL.
Part of Champion’s “reverse weave” collection , which features heavyweight sweats with a worn-in look and feel, this hoodie features a contrast color drawstring, large front pouch pockets and a subtle “C” logo patch on the sleeve. This one is available in a classic fit, though you can size up if you want that trendy, oversized look.
V tops off his look in this photo with a corduroy baseball cap that features both the Champion script logo and capital “C” logo embroidered on the front. The classic hat features a five-panel construction with a relaxed, “dad hat”-style fit. The back is adjustable. V paired the hat with a black Champion script sweatshirt (you can find a similar version for just $23 here ).
The singer’s Champion varsity jacket seen at right is currently only available in Asia, but you can find his baggy sweatpants online through Farfetch. The cotton sweats feature an elastic waistband, open hem, and the iconic C logo at the left hip. You can also find similar relaxed-fit sweatpants in a lighter “silver heather” colorway on the Champion site for just $37 here . Choose from sizes small to 2XL.
Champion says V was a perfect fit for the new campaign, citing his “unmistakable style, artistic vision and global reach” in a press release.
