I visited Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop. From the coffee shop to the bathroom, it was a whole Dolly Parton universe.

Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop is so much more than a place to get fuel and a quick snack.

Renée Reizman I visited Dolly Parton's Tennessean Travel Stop, a fairly new spot in Cornersville, off of I-65.

It had a dog park, fuel stations, several Dolly Parton-themed restaurants , and road-trip essentials.

The exterior and bathrooms were also beautiful.

This was a great place to stop on a long road trip.

On a rainy day in rural Tennessee, I began seeing billboards for Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop off of I-65.

I'd been on a long, cross-country road trip with my dog and the weather had placed me behind schedule.

This stop, located in Cornersville, Tennessee, would be a welcome break.

I was already planning to visit Dollywood, Dolly Parton's theme park in the Smoky Mountains, but when I learned the Queen of Country had opened this attraction of sorts in late June, I planned a detour to check it out.

As a veteran road tripper, I was curious to see how it compared to other beloved roadside chains like Buc-ee's, Wawa, and Love's.

The stop seemed pretty promising from the outside.

005 Renée Reizman The travel stop is about an hour south of Nashville and open 24/7 — it seemed quite busy when I arrived around 5:30 p.m. on a Saturday.

The truck stop looked quite large at around 25,000 square feet on 18 acres, though the parking lot felt smaller than I expected.

After seeing the Buc-ee's in Luling, Texas — the largest convenience store in the world, spanning almost 80,000 square feet — I was imagining a space that could fit a couple of football fields.
