Bush, revealed late Tuesday that he had voted for Democrat James Talarico rather than Trump-backed Republican Ken Paxton in the fiercely contested Texas Senate race.
The extraordinary intervention saw Bush condemn Trump’s “enormous damage” to the GOP—and accuse Paxton of attempting to help the president overturn the 2020 election.
“I have been a Republican for most of my life, and I still believe deeply in many traditional Republican principles,” Bush wrote in a lengthy but measured Facebook post .
