ANC confident of retaining all municipalities in Ehlanzeni

The African National Congress (ANC) in the Ehlanzeni District of Mpumalanga says it is confident of retaining control of all municipalities in the region in the upcoming local government elections.

The party held a media briefing in Mbombela to assess its performance ahead of the elections.

ANC Ehlanzeni Regional Secretary Folus Sibuyi says the party has been engaging with communities and addressing service delivery challenges ahead of the polls.

Sibuyi says the ANC aims to strengthen local government, improve service delivery and restore the authority of the state in areas affected by criminal activity.

“To build municipalities that function effectively and serve their communities, it is important to restore the authority of the state wherever criminality has taken root.

It is also important to ensure that democratic local government delivers tangible and measurable improvements in the daily lives of our people.

These responsibilities require effective institutions and ethical leadership.”
