TMPD constable arrested for alleged fraud

The Tshwane Metro Police Department (TMPD) has confirmed the arrest of one of its constables on allegations of fraud .

The constable was arrested by the Hawks on Friday and remains in custody ahead of his court appearance this week.

TMPD spokesperson Isaac Mahamba says the arrest follows social media footage involving Nonyane.

Mahamba says the department cannot provide further details about the allegations as investigations are ongoing.

“Upon learning of the arrest, the TMPD immediately opened an internal disciplinary investigation into the matter.

While both the internal and external investigations are ongoing, the TMPD does not rule out issuing the member with an intention to suspend, pending the outcome of these proceedings.” -Report by Musa Mhlongo
