Men found with slain runner’s smartwatch bail bid postponed
The formal bail application of one of the three men arrested for being in possession of a smartwatch belonging to slain runner Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo has been postponed to next Tuesday.
The three briefly appeared before the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court in Ekurhuleni on Monday.
Two other accused are expected back in court in December.
A second-hand shop owner, Kenneth Chibuzor, along with Stephen Sekhukhune and Danial Anthony Moat, are charged with money laundering, theft, possession of stolen property and contravention of the Second-hand Goods Act.
The magistrate adjourned the matter.
“Essentially, the state is asking for a postponement in the matter, because they need to verify.
Well … first trace, then verify these documents.
In relation to the two of you, this matter is postponed to 9 December for the purposes of further investigations.
This matter is then postponed for a formal bail application to the date of 27 October; you remain in custody with no bail,” explains the magistrate.
