Justice Mokgohloa’s death leaves ‘huge void’ in justice fraternity

Chief Justice Mandisa Maya says the Supreme Court of Appeal, Justice Fikile Eunice Mokgohloa’s death has left a huge void in the justice fraternity.

She was speaking during Mokgohloa’s funeral at the Hillsong Church in Wonderboom, Pretoria, following her death on August 20th, at the age of 65.

Maya says Mokgohloa belonged to a generation of judicial officers who served with humility.

Justice Mokgohloa belonged to the verified generation of judicial officers, who carry with them extraordinary breath of experience from her long years in practice, from the magistrates court and as a judge who rose to the highest echelons of the judiciary, not just as a jurist as a leader as well.

There are many ways to describe a good judge, we ascribe to them independence of mind, integrity, intellectual ability, diligence, impartiality, humility, courage, justice Mokgohloa possessed all these qualities.”
