US resumes military strikes against Iran

The United States has resumed military strikes against Iran, in the first American attack on Iranian territory in weeks.

US forces targeted Iranian rocket launchers near the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps says there were casualties and promised retaliation .

The United States has carried out fresh strikes against Iran, targeting two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island near the Strait of Hormuz.

Washington says the launchers were being prepared to fire rockets capable of deploying sea mines into one of the world’s most important shipping routes.

The strike is the first known US attack inside Iran since US President Donald Trump halted his military campaign in late July.

The development raises the risk of further escalation in the region.
