JSE invites public input on shortlisted candidates

SABC News South Africa ·

The Judicial Service Commission is inviting public input on revised procedures governing the shortlisting, interviewing and recommendation of candidates for judicial appointment.

The revised procedures also address breaches of JSC members’ duties relating to confidentiality, the law and ethical standards.

Written comments should be submitted by the 17th of September.

The JSC says the revised procedures are aimed at strengthening the processes governing judicial appointments and ensuring that members adhere to their legal and ethical obligations.

Comments can be submitted to the JSC Secretariat at the Office of the Chief Justice or the Registrar’s Office at the Constitutional Court in Braamfontein.

The revised procedures are available on the South African Judiciary and Constitutional Court websites.
