Power restorations underway across eThekwini Municipality

The eThekwini Municipality says electricity teams are working across the city to trace faults and restore power following a surge in reported outages.

Technicians have been deployed to several affected areas, mainly in the western and southern parts of the municipality, including Hillcrest, New Germany, Botha’s Hill, Umlazi V and Bhambayi.

According to the city’s portal list, the reported faults include equipment failures, damaged cables and overhead line faults.

The latest disruptions follow weekend power outages in Westville and surrounding areas.

Residents have been urged to be patient as repair times will depend on the nature and extent of the damage.
