SABC News ·

The City of Cape Town’s Disaster Risk Management Centre (DRMC) says about 400 people have been displaced after a fire destroyed about 80 informal structures at the Myitshe Informal Settlement in Imizamo Yethu, Hout Bay this morning.

No injuries or fatalities have been reported.

Powell says humanitarian organisation Gift of the Givers is also providing assistance.

Further support is being coordinated through the South African Social Security Agency and other partners. -Report by Lerato Dlalisa
