CPUT SRC calls for resolution of impasse, resumption of lectures

The Central Student Representative Council of Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) says it wants the impasse at the institution to be resolved so that the academic programme can resume.

Secretary General Ababalwe Bangiso says they want students to have a direct role in negotiations with university management and other stakeholders.

“We made very clear that were open for engagement; we do want to engage, however we have also communicated with the university council and the executive management that in our engagement, can you please include the students that we are leading.

And the reason for that, we have had engagements with the management and whatever we have agreed upon is not what they convey to the students.
