Judgment reserved in impeachment appeal by UAT and MKP

The Western Cape High Court in Cape Town has reserved judgment in the appeal lodged by the uMkhonto weSizwe (MKP) and United Africans Transformation (UAT).

The parties went back to the High Court seeking leave to appeal its interdict that halted the oral testimony or public hearings of the Impeachment Committee.

Last month the court interdicted the Impeachment Committee pending the review application of Section 89 Independent Panel report scheduled to be heard next month.

The two parties and others appealed directly to the Constitutional Court but their appeal was dismissed.
