EFF promises free basic services for the unemployed

Economic Freedom Fighters president Julius Malema says if the EFF is given an opportunity to govern, it will ensure that unemployed citizens and Sassa beneficiaries receive free basic services.

Malema was addressing the EFF Ground Forces Forum in Umsunduzi, in Pietermaritzburg, as part of his local government election campaign.

South Africa holds local government elections on November 4.

Malema says unemployment in the country is out of control and the government is failing to provide basic services.

“In your house, you’ve got cables; those cables are not electricity, it’s just cables.

You’ve got a plug on the wall; it’s so painful because when you switch it on, the light doesn’t come on because you cannot afford.

In the EFF, the only place you are going to tell people you are poor is at Sassa.
