Political-related killings are a huge concern: Ramaphosa

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa says political-related killings and the recent spate of mass murders are a huge cause of concern.

He spoke to the media on the sidelines of his campaign for votes ahead of the l ocal government elections on the 4th of November.

Ramaphosa has spent the weekend garnering votes for the ANC in the Cape Town Metro.

In the latest incident last week, two ANC councillors were gunned down in Umgababa in KwaZulu-Natal while on door-to-door campaigns.

“Obviously all disturbed about the political killings that are targeting people who are either campaigning, who are either representatives who should be elected, and also the mass killings.

The police are on the heels of all those people who are perpetrating those murders.

We cannot be a country that has the killings of people who other people may be opposed to.

We want to bring those killings to an end” Meanwhile, the ANC President raised concern over the number of young people who have not finished high school.

“I am saddened when I get into homes and I find that young people have not finished their high school.

When the government has opened the doors of learning, schools these days are largely free because you can start from ECD and you can go to basic education grade 1 to grade 12 for free.

You can even go to university and get a bursary.

Now I’m making a call on all of us who are parents.

Please do not allow your child to drop out of school.

Do not allow your child to drop out of school.”
