Kingpin Ralph Stanfield pleads not guilty to all charges

Alleged underworld kingpin, Ralph Stanfield, has pleaded not guilty to all 11 charges in the Western Cape High Court.

This is as his trial commenced today alongside his wife, Nicole Johnson and 12 co-accused.

Stanfield also faces charges relating to the December 2019 killing of Hard Living’s leader, Rashied Staggie and City of Cape Town employee Wendy Kloppers.

Johnson also pleaded not guilty to three charges under the Prevention of Organised Crime Act.

Other charges include fraud, corruption, robbery and attempted murder.

The state alleges they are members of The Firm criminal gang, led by Stanfield.

All the other accused have also denied guilt.

The matter continues tomorrow to finalise submissions.
