CAPEXIT hosts awareness day in Kirstenhof ahead of local elections

SABC News ·

The Cape Independence Party (CAPEXIT) has hosted an awareness day at Kirstenhof in the Cape Peninsula ahead of the November 4 Local Government Elections.

The 19-year-old party advocates for an independent Western Cape and won its first two municipal seats in the 2021 Local Government Elections in the City of Cape Town.

CAPEXIT seeks to use constitutional means to have the entire Western Cape, parts of the Northern Cape, parts of the Eastern Cape, and parts of the Free State secede from the Republic of South Africa.

From the West Coast through Cape Town, to the Winelands, Overberg and the Garden Route to the Central Karoo, across our towns, farms and cities, we share more than a map.

We share the right to determine our future, and the responsibility to build it together The Cape of Good Hope — our own country Let’s Vote CAPEXIT on 4 November! Join Us at https://t.co/5hnfazSlJm and Get Involved now! — Cape Independence Party (@capexitparty) October 16, 2026 CAPEXIT Leader Jack Miller says, “We’ve been saying, ‘DA = ANC Lite,’ and it’s time for the DA to go.

The rest of the country threw the ANC out and got them underneath 50% in the last elections: it’s time for us here in the Western Cape to get the DA out and get them underneath 50%.

The DA at 55% is arrogant and unaccountable, the DA at 45% would be forced to form a coalition with CAPEXIT or one of the other parties.

Once we’re in a coalition, we can tell them, “Listen, we’re sick and tired of your policies; we’re sick and tired of you treating the Western Cape citizens like cows to be milked, taxing us to death.”
