Zolani Tete’s family devastated by his murder

A family member of two-time boxing world champion Zolani Tete says they are devastated by his murder .

The boxer was gunned down in front of his house on Friday night while waiting to drive into his yard in Mdantsane in the Eastern Cape.

Tete’s manager, Mlandeli Tengimfene, says the funeral service will be held in the KuGompo City Hall next Saturday.

He says a memorial is planned for Wednesday.

He says the boxing community is reeling in shock.

“Devastating news, tragic news to us, particularly myself and the boxing community.

People around there, everybody was crying when it was confirmed that Zolani is no more.

Family, we met as the family.

It’s unbelievable.

We never thought of it.
