AFL grand final: Hayden Ballantyne’s ‘Longmuir Coach’ bus hits snag on cross-country drive to MCG

The ‘Longmuir Coach’ - Freo’s cross-country bus headed by former great Hayden Ballantyne - has suffered some mechanical issues during its trip from Perth to Melbourne.

Bus passengers were stranded for multiple hours near Streaky Bay, west of South Australia’s Eyre Peninsula, as they waited on some roadside assistance.

“Our little drama is just about to be fixed,” Ballantyne said in an Instagram video.

“We’ve got Karl from Streaky Bay Mechanical coming out with the part that we need. He’s bringing out that new line and 20 litres of oil for us.

“We should be back on the road in the next hour or so. Fingers crossed we’ll get the big bad girl back on the road.

Here’s hoping that the bus trip will be just like the Dockers’ season - filled with gutsy half-time comebacks and strong finishes for a great result in the end.
