Saturday Lotto: Perth man scores best birthday gift ever with mammoth $2.1m Lotto win

A Perth man is doubling his birthday celebrations after scoring a massive Lotto jackpot over the weekend.

The 63-year-old punter revealed he had learnt that he was WA’s only division one winner just one day before his birthday — with the Perth man winning a staggering $2.1 million jackpot.

After years of buying weekly Slikpik tickets through Lotterywest Online, the WA local said he had no idea he was Perth’s newest millionaire until he received a phone call at work.

“I work with my son, so I put him on the phone and made them tell him as well to make sure I wasn’t hearing things,” the lucky winner said.

“I was shaking so I had to get my son to look up the amount online and he said, ‘You’ve won $2.1 million Dad!’

The punter revealed that the jackpot meant he would be splurging for two birthday celebrations with his loved ones instead of just one.

“I think we’ll go out for dinner two nights in a row to make the most of the celebration,” he said, revealing the family would be having both Malaysian and KFC to toast the occasion.

The big feed isn’t the only way the lucky winner plans to celebrate his newfound fortune — with the sexagenarian revealing that there were two big holidays on the agenda for him and his wife.

Talking to Lotterywest, he said they would be booking first class tickets to visit Egypt and the Maldives.

He also ensured he would use a chunk of his “life-changing” winnings for more practical reasons — sharing that he has already consulted with a financial advisor about using the funds for retirement.

“We’re also going to pay off the mortgage and put some money aside for the family,” he revealed.

“This is life changing for us and I want to make sure my family are looked after too.”

The 63-year-old has joined 34 other West Aussies who have nabbed a massive jackpot from Saturday Lotto in 2026.

The winning numbers were 27, 45, 33, 25, 17, and 23. The supplementary numbers were 26 and 43.
