Cost of living crisis getting you down? Big W has dropped the price of 800 family essentials

But, you’re in luck, as Big W has listened to that feedback from their shoppers, and dropped the price of more than 800 essentials.

From Thursday 17 September, over 800 items across the store will have their shelf price dropped by an average of 17 per cent.

The expansion brings BIG W’s Price Drops to over 3,000 items across the store, after the shelf price of more than 2,000 items was reduced in April.

The items reduced in price span baby care, personal care, appliances and regular cleaning needs.

Amongst items with the greatest savings is the Contempo Espresso Machine, which was $79 but has been reduced to $59 , the equivalent to purchasing approximately 10 cafe coffees.

Combining minimalist Scandi-inspired aesthetics with professional-grade performance, this machine is designed to bring the coffee shop experience directly to your kitchen counter.

Key features include a 15 Bar Powerful Pressure Pump, which delivers the ideal extraction pressure for a rich, aromatic espresso with a professional-grade crema, and a high-Pressure Frothing Function to allow you to easily texturise milk for lattes, cappuccinos, and flat whites.

The expansion builds on BIG W’s inaugural BIG Price Drop in April where shelf prices on over 2,000 products were reduced, with items like the Contempo Digital Dual Air Fryer 8L flying off the shelves after its price dropped from $119 to $79.

BIG W’s Chief Commercial Officer, Christine Faulkner, said: “We know Aussie families are feeling the pressure, and value has never been more important.

“Our first wave of Price Drops made a real difference for our customers, so we wanted to extend that value to even more products across the store.

“We’re adding a wide range of everyday essentials, beauty favourites, and kids’ toys to deliver immediate savings for the whole family.

“From pet food, kettles and toasters to nappies and cleaning products, our customers can trust they’re getting great value on the products they want and need.”

The top items added to the Price Drop includes the Contempo Kettle 1.7L and matching Contempo 4 Slice Toaster both in Textured Steel Blue: now $29 each (a $10 price drop each), the Laundry Hamper with Wheels down to $17 ($5 drop) and BabyLove Nappies now $25 ($5 drop).

You can also get your hands on basic personal care items like Palmolive Body Butter Body Wash: now $9 ($3 drop) and Cleanse Therapy Vanilla Bean Body Wash: $2.50 (50 cents drop).
