7You reviews: New Paula’s Choice Pro-Collagen Peptide Intensive Plumping Moisturiser - a saviour for dry skin

When it comes to skincare, we all have our tried-and-tested favourite brands.

And as a long-time Paula’s Choice fan, I am interested in any product the cult label puts out.

But I was especially intrigued to hear that the US brand, famous for its science-driven formulas, was putting out a new ‘intensive’ moisturiser, designed especially for those with dry and dehydrated skin.

The Pro-Collagen Peptide Intensive Plumping Moisturiser ($74) , released this week, promises to be a rich, non-greasy cream that “visibly plumps, firms, and replenishes dry skin”.

Designed for skin that struggles to retain hydration, the peptide-powered formula reportedly delivers “deep moisture for up to 120 hours”, meaning your skin looks better hydrated, better looked after and better all round.

I got my hands on this product last month ahead of its September launch date, when my skin really needed it.

After three months of winter, Sydney marathon training, working full-time and parenting two young children, it’s safe to say that TLC had somehow slipped down my to-do list.

According to the Paula’s Choice product experts, this moisturiser has been specifically designed for people who need “more than a hit of hydration”.

Powered by the brand’s special plumping 3x Pro-Collagen Peptide Complex , the non-greasy formula aims to trap water within the skin’s surface using Red Micro-Algae Extract, while the Moisture-Locking Lipid Tech works to reinforce skin’s lipid barrier.

At $74, it sits firmly in the expensive realm of daily face moisturisers, but as someone who doesn’t mind forking out for a product for my face, I was happy to make the investment.

Upon first examination, I was impressed with the cute-as-a-button pink colour, the pump dispenser and the rich, cushiony consistency of the cream.

Once you get some on to your hands , it really feels like you’re giving your complexion a moisture hit.

Upon first application, I was also impressed with how easily the product glided on to my face and soaked right in.

There’s nothing worse than putting on moisturiser and feeling like it’s sitting there on top of your skin, ruining any makeup application.
