Sydney Swans players made up job title to exotic dancers: ‘We’re carpenters’

Victorian Police officials are preparing to conduct their interviews in Sydney as the investigation into the Swans’ hotel scandal continues .

It has also has emerged that the Swans players involved made up a fake career when they were speaking to the exotic dancers.

“When asked what they did for work, the players told the alleged victims they were carpenters,” 7NEWS sports reporter Tom Morris revealed on Thursday.

The scandal has rocked the AFL on the eve of the finals, with superstars Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner and Nick Blakey suspended for the rest of the season.

Sydney role players James Jordon and Riley Bice have also been stood down and will not be considered for finals.

Heeney, who won back-to-back Bob Skilton Medals as the club’s best and fairest in 2024 and 2025, is considered the primary target of the investigation although no charges have yet been laid.

7NEWS revealed on Wednesday there were allegedly illicit drugs present in the room at the Pullman Hotel where the players stayed.

“It’s unclear which players were involved in this drug use, but I am willing to say tonight that there were multiple players that were taking cocaine,” Morris revealed on Wednesday night.

The topless waitresses were booked for $210 per woman, plus tips for extra services and a deposit, from Party Girls Melbourne.

Morris said the exotic dancers arrived at around 5.30am for a two-hour booking. The team was scheduled to leave for the airport at 8am.

Leading dental brand Colgate has suspended a lucrative sponsorship deal with the 30-year-old Heeney, who along with his teammates has apologised for the behaviour at the Melbourne hotel.

The Swans will name an extended squad on Thursday night to face North Melbourne on Sunday afternoon at the SCG, with the line-up decimated by the absence of the banned players.

Sydney CEO Matthew Pavlich was asked if he had a message for Swans fans ahead of the match, which is a double-header with Sydney’s AFLW team.

“Keep supporting us. We’re sorry we are putting you all through this,” he said at Swans headquarters on Thursday morning.
