Bikie boss killed in deadly Ballarat hit-and-run as driver remains on the run
A bikie boss has been killed in a deadly hit and run before the driver dumped the car and fled the scene early on Monday.
Police say a green Ford Fiesta struck the man on Butt St in Canadian, a suburb of Ballarat , just after midnight.
The car was later found dumped around the corner without number plates but with significant damage from the deadly collision.
“I heard a bang and then some dragging along the road, like some metal dragging. And then before I knew it, there’s lights everywhere,” she said.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene and administered CPR, but the bikie boss could not be saved.
Both streets remained crime scenes for much of Monday, with the road covered in police markers as detectives work to piece together what happened.
Officers are trying to work out who the killer is and why the man was mowed down.
