The Uniqlo linen trend taking over spring: These $59.90 culottes are the pair everyone wants

Spring has a way of making me want to throw every item of clothing that isn’t linen in the back of the wardrobe and pretend I have a much more effortless approach to getting dressed.

For spring and summer 2026, Uniqlo has leaned into linen with a collection of lightweight pieces designed for everyday wear, from loose trousers and shorts to sleeveless dresses and polished shirts.

And while there are plenty of good options, one pair has caught my attention in particular: the UNIQLO and COMPTOIR DES COTONNIERS Linen Blend Culotte.

They’re $59.90, sit below the knee and have a softly flared shape that makes them feel a little more fashion-forward than your standard summer linen pants.

The fabric blends linen with cotton, giving you that naturally textured, slightly rumpled look that makes linen so appealing in the first place, while keeping the feel soft and easy against the skin.

A pair of culottes can be surprisingly versatile. Wear them with a simple tank and sandals for a hot Sydney day, add a crisp shirt and ballet flats for the office, or throw on a fitted tee and trainers when you want to look like you made an effort without actually spending 40 minutes deciding what to wear.

If culottes aren’t quite your thing, Uniqlo has plenty of other linen pieces worth adding to the spring wardrobe.

The Linen Blend Sleeveless Blouse, $29.90 , is an easy starting point. It has a simple, shorter silhouette that works neatly with high-waisted trousers, skirts or denim. At under $30, it is also the kind of piece you can buy now and wear constantly once the weather warms up.

For something looser, the Linen Blend Easy Pants, $39.90, have a wide, straight cut designed to keep things airy. The relaxed shape makes them an obvious choice for weekends, holidays and those days when wearing anything restrictive feels like a personal attack.

Then there is the 100 per cent European Premium Linen Skipper Collar 3/4 Sleeve Shirt , $59.90 . Made using European-grown flax, it has a relaxed silhouette and skipper neckline, with the kind of subtle sheen that gives linen a more polished finish.

For the hotter days, the Linen Blend Easy Shorts, $24.90 , are an easy wardrobe staple. The fabric combines linen with rayon for a softer feel, while the drawstring waist lets you adjust the fit. There are also pockets, which should be considered mandatory in every pair of shorts, frankly.

The Linen Blend Mini Dress Sleeveless, $59.90, is another strong contender for holidays and weekends. It is the one-piece answer to those mornings when putting together an outfit feels unnecessarily complicated.

Linen can sometimes veer into very beach-holiday mood, but the flared shape of these gives them enough structure to work beyond the sand. They have the relaxed appeal of linen without looking like you’ve just wandered away from a resort buffet.

And at $59.90, they sit in that sweet spot where you can justify adding them to your spring rotation without treating the purchase like a major financial decision.
